Call for Research Abstracts and 90 minute Seminar/Workshop Submissions

We now invite you to submit either a research abstract (400 words) or a 90 minute Seminar/Workshop under the following themes:

  • Economic Turbulence and Housing Justice

  • Housing Affordability and Supply

  • Housing Equality for all Generations

  • Housing Precarity, Homelessness and Human Rights

  • Indigenous Housing Justice

  • Mega Events, Mega Projects, and Urban Regeneration

  • Housing, Health and Wellbeing

  • Policy Impacts, Innovation and Governance

  • Climate Change, Displacement, and Resilience

  • Global Perspectives and Comparative Lessons

  • Other

To begin the submission process you must first create a contact which is done on the Contact Information tab. After creating a contact, additional tabs will appear that will enable you to upload and submit your presentation. You can use the same login to submit either an abstract or a seminar/workshop submission.

Abstract or 90 min Seminar or Workshop Submission CUT-OFF DATE: 30th September 2025

Research Abstract - 400 words

Your abstract must follow the format conditions.

  • Title of Research Abstract (20 words)

  • Authors and affiliations, plus presenting author biographical details (100 words)

  • Research Abstract (400 words)

    Abstract Submission - the pages online will take you through the process of submitting your abstract. 

    • Each of the tabs on the left hand side of the page will bring up a step in the submission process that needs to be completed.  If you see a X against an orange step, it means it is yet to be completed.

    • At any time in the process you can click the Save As Draft button to save your incomplete submission and return to it at a later time. 

    • The Review section will give you an overview of the sections that are still required to be completed before you can submit your abstract. 

    • Once all required sections have been completed, you can submit your abstract in the Submit section of this page.

    CONDITIONS
    * Please note that figures and tables are not to be included.
    * Abstract word count is strictly 400 words across all sections (excluding Abstract Title). Abstracts over this count will not be accepted.

90 minute Seminar or Workshop Submission

Your must follow the formatting conditions for your Seminar/Workshop Outline.

  • Title of 90 minute Seminar or Workshop Submission (20 words)

  • Summary of proposed event (200 words)

    • Please include key message, focus and format.  The format should be clearly spelt out to assist with programming. 
      Eg: “2 x 20 minute presentations followed by a 45 minute panel session with Questions

  • Proposed Speaker (or Organisation) - Name of proposed lead speaker and representative organisation (optional)

  • Theme Outline - How does the proposed event align with the theme of “Housing Justice in Turbulent Times” (200 words)


    Seminar or Workshop Submission - the pages online will take you through the process of submitting your seminar or workshop outline.

A QUT shuttle bus available to shuttle those staying in the city to Kelvin Grove campus (3 kms away) if required.
